That's not what I wanted!

Sometimes, not getting what you want turns out to be the best thing for you. Scratch that, probably every time. That is when the trust in a higher power comes in. Knowing that it knows better then us what we REALLY want and what is best for us.

I recently got married. I wanted the wedding on the beach. That did not work out. I wanted my friend to be my “best woman” she declined as she said she would be too pregnant to stand up there. I wanted a solid wedding ring about .5 inches wide. Turns out I have too clammy of hands to wear a ring like that, (tried it, it seriously was like wearing a wet band-aid all the time-yuck!) so that did not work out either. And once upon a time I wanted a different man up there with me. THANK GOD that didn’t work out. - No offense to the guy(s). ;o)

What I got instead, was a gorgeous mountain area with rolling hills. My sister as my “best woman” who was AMAZING and I was able to get that much closer to. The help and presence of my pregnant friend anyway. A super cool artsy ring. And a guy so great for me that I am falling more in love with him every day.

With everything - Nothing was what I thought I wanted originally (or at least at one time wanted), but it turned out they were everything I never knew I always wanted and more. EVERYTHING was beyond perfect.

If I had held true to what I thought I wanted, I would have been miserable and disappointed over everything. But by going with life’s turns - and trusting that even if I could not get what I thought I wanted, more perfect answers would arrive- I had a fabulous time and enjoyed everything!

So as life throws you curve balls when you thought you were wanting something else - go with it. It is probably leading you to something more wonderful then you ever imagined.

Dream of the possibilities, but wish for “that - or something BETTER!” You will be astonished at what comes into your life.

P.S. Am I the only one who has the Rolling Stones playing a live concert in their living room right now? {You can't always get what you want... but you get what you need...}
