What you want, wants you!
I wish you a wonderful and happy new year and may all your dreams come true.
So - how did you embark into this new year? Did you list all the beautiful things you envision for 2008? If not - I ask you to take a piece of paper right now and write your vision. Include all aspects of your life: family, social, health, profession, hobbies, vacation, finances, etc. Remember: You deserve the best at all times and your thoughts create your reality.
A study has shown that only three percent of all Americans list their goals in writing. However these three percent do reach their goals. Please make sure that you belong to this group of people, who reach their goals and live the life they want. Every thought that enters your mind creates reality. If your vision for yourself is vague and blurry, the reality you experience will be the same.
I would like to share two examples to illuminate the principles of manifesting.
Several years ago, I was looking for a new home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I listed everything I wanted and meditated on it daily. I envisioned a little house, only fifteen minutes from the city. I wanted a deck, so I could sit outside. I liked to hear birds sing and big trees all around. I asked for a cellar with daylight coming in, where my art studio would be. I needed a garage for my motorcycle and asked for the best landlords on earth. My list went on and on. I looked at houses and soon realized that I might be asking for too much. What I really wanted could not possibly exist! However I kept on meditating, believing that at the right time the perfect house would show up. I kept my vision for two months. But finally I gave up. I was disillusioned by reality. A compromise seemed reasonable.
Then the most amazing thing happened. A beautiful coincidence guided me to the house of my dreams. The moment I saw the house, I knew that I had found what I was looking for. I lived there for four very happy years and it was better than anything I could have imagined (and believe me, my list was LONG). E.g. my landlady was a fabulous cook, she regularly brought me a plate filled with her delicacies. My landlord was also a motorcycle-lover. My Suzuki Bandit 600 was parked next to his Harley. And many times he took me on beautiful rides to scenic places in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The rent was higher than I anticipated, but when I signed the contract the price was reduced to the exact amount I had meditated upon. I was baffeled and my landlord said: "You look like a nice girl and since you will be living here by yourself you shouldn't pay that much."
These events demonstrate the most important key to manifesting: NON - ATTACHMENT TO THE OUTCOME. This may sound like a paradox. However, for as long as you hold on to your heart's desire, there is also the fear of not getting it. This fear and this doubt prevents the good to enter your life. It blocks you from living your dream. My block disappeared the very moment I completely gave up the idea of finding the perfect house. Only then it entered my life.
Of course, there are some lucky individuals who have NO doubt at all. A couple of years ago I visited my Australian friend Karin in Melbourne. We had shared the same house in Tel Aviv and had not seen each other for a while. In celebration of our reunion we took the ferry to Tasmania and embarked onto a road-trip. Before our journey we had dinner with Karin's family. Her dad urged her to sign up for a road-service membership (the AAA equivalent). Karin just waved him off: "Dad, whenever I need help it is immediately available, there is no need to worry."
We went on our trip and had a great time. Tasmania is incredible. One night we stayed in a hotel in Launceston. We left early in the morning. Everything was still closed. When we got into the car, it wouldn't start. The battery was dead. We had forgotten to turn off the light inside the car and no help was available.
We considered what to do. All of a sudden Karin burst out that I would have to push the car, because we had to get out of the garage immediately. It did not make any sense to me at all. A one lane ramp lead down to the main street. All I could see was us blocking the entrance. Karin got into the car and said with determination: "You have to push the car now, we have to get out of here!" I pushed the car, convinced that this was silly. As soon as we got out of the garage, a truck drove up and parked on the street. Karin jumped out of the car and told the driver that we needed help. Naturally he had starter cables and the car was running within minutes. All together our day started with a short delay of maybe ten minutes. As we left Launceston Karin smiled and said: "Now you know why we had to hurry, because otherwise we would have missed him."
Now take a look at your list. You are the only person in this world who can dream your dream. Don't hold back. Let your imagination run free. Meditate daily on your vision for the new year. Then seal your list into an envelope and only open it on December 31. 2008. Enjoy. Live your dream. This year will be the best year of your life.
